Our projects aim to make a positive difference in the lives of others, focusing on both local and global communities. The individuals and families impacted by our initiatives may be from our immediate surroundings or from regions across Australia. Additionally, our international efforts have included target communities in Fiji, Philipines,  Bangladesh, and Uganda.

Holland Festival

Welkom! Welcome to the Holland Festival, Australia’s premier celebration of Dutch culture, heritage, and community! Hosted annually by the Rotary Club of Casey, this vibrant event brings together over 6,000 attendees to experience the best of the Netherlands right here in Melbourne

Experience the best of Dutch culture, from traditional food and live music to artisan markets and family-friendly activities. Whether you’re savoring freshly made stroopwafels, dancing to Dutch tunes, or exploring the vibrant vendor and exhibitor stalls, there’s something for everyone to enjoy

As much as the Holland Festival celebrates culture, it’s also about giving back. Each year, proceeds from the event support vital local and international charities such as Interplast, Wheelchairs for Kids, and the Rotary Foundation. In 2024, the festival raised $90,000 for over 30 organisations, making a tangible impact on countless lives.

Belgrave Rotary has participated for over 5 years , with various duties , including set up , pack up , cleaning & selling drinks . All our members are proud of the contribution this makes to the above charities & we also share in contributing funds back into local community projects in The Hill

Foothills Community Care

Foothills Community Care is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing safe spaces for individuals facing challenges such as domestic violence, homelessness, and mental health issues. Established in 2002, it offers nutritious meals and community support, fostering connection and dignity for those in need within the Dandenong Ranges and surrounding areas.

DRERS Dandenong Rangers Emergency Relief Service

Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service (DRERS) provides food and possible financial assistance to people in the Dandenong Ranges.A long association with DRERS , Belgrave Rotary provides Financial Support Through The Annual Sausage sizzle at Belgrave Lantern Festival

Upwey RSL Anzac Day Breakfast

The Upwey RSL Anzac Day Breakfast is a cherished community event held annually to honor and remember the sacrifices of our veterans. Following the dawn service, attendees can enjoy a hearty breakfast featuring traditional fare, fostering camaraderie and reflection among participants while supporting local initiatives.

Kallista Markets

Upwey High School Citizen & VCE Awards

Upwey High School Citizen & VCE Awards Presented by the Rotary Club of BelgraveEach year, the Rotary Club of Belgrave proudly recognises outstanding students from Upwey High School through the Citizen & VCE Awards. These awards celebrate excellence in leadership, academic achievement, and community service.- The Rotary Citizenship Award honours a student who exemplifies the values of integrity, responsibility, and service to others — someone who makes a positive difference in their school and local community. - The VCE Excellence Award is presented to a student who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance and commitment throughout their VCE studies.These awards reflect Rotary’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth development, education, and leadership within the Dandenong Ranges community.

Ash Wednesday Bushfire Education Centre

Belgrave Rotary Supports Ash Wednesday Bushfire Education Centre

When Graham from the Ash Wednesday Bushfire Education Centre in Cockatoo reached out to Tina McInerney of the Emerald Rotary Club seeking help to upgrade the Centre’s aging laptop, Emerald Rotary turned to Belgrave Rotary for support.

Belgrave Rotary promptly responded, connecting with their member Gus from www.rozult.com, who was able to supply a high-quality laptop solution at a heavily discounted price. Thanks to this partnership, Emerald Rotary funded the purchase of a new laptop, along with a WiFi keyboard and mouse, and a portable hard drive—essential tools for Graham and the Centre.

This collaboration ensures the continued delivery of vital education about the devastating impact of Ash Wednesday, preserving these important lessons for future generations. Special thanks to Belgrave Rotary and Gus for their generous contribution and support of this important community initiative.

Selby Fest

*Selby Fest* is a vibrant community festival held in Selby, Victoria, celebrating local arts, culture, and community spirit. Puffing Billy Fun Run

The Puffing Billy Running Festival is a celebrated annual event in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, offering participants the unique challenge of racing against the iconic Puffing Billy steam train. The festival features a variety of races, including a 1.2 km Kids Dash, a 5 km Family Fun Run, a 13.5 km Classic, and a 21.1 km Half Marathon, catering to runners of all ages and abilitiesThe Rotary Club of Belgrave plays a supportive role in the festival, contributing to its success through community engagement and volunteer efforts. While the Rotary Club of Emerald & District is notably involved in organizing events like the "Rotary Kids Fun Run with Puffing Billy," the Belgrave club collaborates in broader community initiatives, such as the R100 Celebrations, which included a commemorative train journey aboard Puffing Billy to mark Rotary's century of service in Australia and New Zealand Proceeds from the festival support heritage railway projects, including the construction of Puffing Billy Railway’s Belgrave Station Signal BoxThe event not only promotes physical activity and family fun but also contributes to the preservation of local history and community development.
